WELCOME TO THE LAKE FOREST ICE PALACE SKATING SCHOOL!
Skating School is for all ages and levels, so skaters can begin their skating journey and realize their skating dreams anytime! Classes are 30 minutes long and include free practice on the day of class. Skating school will be offered on Fridays and Saturdays as we transition back into normal programs. We are also happy to announce the reopening of several public sessions for you and your family and friends to come hang out, practice skills, and beat the heat as summer comes to an end.
We understand that it has probably been some time since your skater has taken to the ice and promise a positive, nurturing journey back. We look forward to seeing you this summer and please let us know if we can assist you in any way!

WHY ICE SKATING?
There are many benefits to Ice Skating. Some benefits include:
•Great exercise! Ice Skating boosts the cardiovascular system, building leg muscle and endurance. It improves joint flexibility and creates better balance, quickness, agility, and coordination.
•Develops social skills and boosts self esteem.
•Builds mental fitness through concentration, spatial awareness, and memory skills.
•Most of all, IT’S FUN!
Skaters in the LFIP Skating School experience all of these benefits. Not only is Ice Skating a great sport and fantastic exercise, it teaches children discipline, goal-setting, and practice; strong characteristics that carry over into their academics and everyday life.
All students must be Learn To Skate USA members.

YOUR FIRST CLASS:
Make sure that your skater is dressed warmly. Don’t forget to bring gloves or mittens. All protective gear (i.e. helmets, knee pads, etc) is optional . Please arrive early. Lane assignments will be posted at the entrances to the ice and at the Box Office. These charts will let you know where you need to go and also who your instructor will be. Skates should be snugly fit and be tied tightly. If you have any questions about fitting skates, please feel free to ask for assistance. Beginner classes will meet off the ice first on the first day of class.
PRACTICE SESSIONS:
A free practice session is included on the day of your class. To redeem each practice session, students are required to check in at the Box Office to receive a stamp prior to entering the ice surface. Please remember these practice sessions are for the student only. We encourage all students to use this ice time to maximize their skating potential.
MAKE-UP CLASSES:
If you miss a class, you can email to schedule a make-up class.
There is a limit to 1 make up session per month per skater. Skaters can only take a make-up class in another class of the same level. Make up classes are non-transferable from skater to skater.
To qualify for a make up class, you must email our Skating School Director, Coach Libby, at libby@avicepalace.com and get your make up class APPROVED before coming to your make up class.
